Tsubasa dresses in Chanel for event
Tackey & Tsubasa’s Tsubasa Imai donned a Chanel necktie of his choice and actress Mao Daichi a Chanel dress as the two promoted their upcoming stage show about fashion legend Coco Chanel in Tokyo on April 21, reports News 24 and Asahi Shimbun.
This is the third year in a row since 2009 the two actors have performed the stage show “Gabrielle Chanel“, which follows the private life of fashion designer Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, played by Daichi, and her affair with English polo player Arthur “Boy” Capel, played by Imai.
“This time I’ll work as Tsubasa from ‘Mackey & Tsubasa’ and not ‘Tackey & Tsubasa’,” said Imai.
It has been reported that working together for the third time, the two actors have now become good friends and often exchange text messages. Even so, Tsubasa made it clear he had not forgotten about Tackey.
“Right now (Hideaki) Takizawa is performing his show here at Nissay Theatre so I just sent her a text asking, ‘when would you like to see it with me?’,” Imai said.
“Gabrielle Chanel” begins performances at the Nissay Theatre in Tokyo from May 14 to 28.
