2 weeks from wednesday is the series finale of dawson's creek. and though i haven't kept up on it, i started watching it last week. i'm sad that it's ending because it's the 90210 of our generation. and soon they'll probably be reruns on saturday and sunday mornings on fx. and the next generation will watch them just as we have watched 90210 at 10 am on those lazy saturdays.
i remember in 7th grade when my brother and i weren't allowed to watch t.v. after 9 o'clock. so i would sneak into my brother's room every tuesday at 9 and we'd watch dawson's creek on my dad's little sports t.v. twisting the antenna until we found reception and taking turns holding it in place for the next hour.
even last year my brother would sneak into my room to watch t.v. late at night if he couldn't sleep or my mom wouldn't let him watch it upstairs. and next year i hope he does the same. it's amazing how watching t.v. late at night can bring 2 siblings together. and how much one t.v. show can enhance their relationship. and how the two of them will always be the best of friends. a friendship that may have started from a little t.v. with bad reception and a corny t.v. show that was all the rage. and you weren't cool unless you could answer the question every wednesday morning, did you see what happened on dawson's creek last night? and, well, we were cool. or at least we pretended to be.
