After multiple weeks of being sharply under the weather, things really started to look up on Monday, despite my car failing its smog test.
The catalyst that brought me around to seeing the bright side of things (or at least not loathing everything in sight) was discovering that my car's trip odometer had flipped over from 9.9 and was scaling up nicely through the teens. It still lags at x9.9, but tends to get with the program eventually. A ballpark trip-distance is better than no trip-distance at all. (I mostly use it to calculate my gas mileage.)
In any case, after that I shook out the cob webs a bit and got it into my head to spend the summer splitting my time between the trails of SoCal and the LA Zoo. Things to do! Hooray, right?
Today, however I'm feeling low again. Lonely, despite spending much of the day with Draco. The crankiness really kicked into gear while we were coming back down the mountain, though. I pulled my sunglasses out of my pack to discover a great whopping gash on the right lens, smack in the center of my field of vision. And I scraped the scratch with my fingernail... which set my teeth on edge for most of the drive home.
UP was a pretty good film. Lots of laughing and crying for me. But, ugh, miss-spouse much?
There are things I could do to pull out of this funkiness, but I should be trying to get some sleep. ;P
