Whoo! as the NY Times put it: Hugh Laurie won best actor for a dramatic television series for playing an irascible doctor as the lead in "House." He SO deserved it.

Augh, went to try to see Brokeback Mountain late Sunday night after work, and wtf? We had to wait in line 15 minutes because all these teenagers were in line to see Hostel or some silly slasher film. Thus we missed the showtime, and settled for Syriana instead.
Whoa, George Cloony is really good, Matt Damon pulls off his financial analyst well, but holy complex storyline. Way way way too many vague bits of storyline thrown at one while zipping around to various locations around the globe. I like complex political intrigue, but this was over the top. :/

- Lynn Flewelling's new book The Oracle Queen will be out this June finally! It is the 3rd book of the Tamir Trilogy: The Bone Doll's Twin, and The Hidden Warrior are the first two. Wonderful writing, original fantasy and one of the more interesting discussions of gender identity in any fantasy that I've read.
- Do check out Flewelling's earlier Luck in Shadows books. The Tamir Trilogy is a prequel to these books. It's all fun adventure with a deliciously dark undertone and wizardry. It's one of the few books that honestly approaches bisexuality in fantasy. The two main characters are very appealing shall we say. *wink*
- Flewelling is a Mainer, so uses a lot of the gorgeous woods and rocky ocean shoreline for locations in the books.
