Just stuff

So.. I watched the Al Gore movie "An Inconvenient Truth" the other day.. actually saw it twice.

He had some pretty interesting things to say (after you get past the whole.. Bush vs Gore ballot fiasco that he had to throw in there.. which of course I have no comment on cause I'm Canadian and hate Bush.. enough said!)

Anyhoo.. not the point.. the point of the movie is the we are DESTROYING the world.. not just changing it a little, nor just ruining some natural resources that we don't really need in the long run.. we are completely obliterating everything that makes Earth, Earth. Sad really... the worst part is.. we have created us a "simple easy" lifestyle that demands things like cars, oil, gas etc.. Don't get me wrong.. I'm no hippie-tree-hugging-brat, but I do appreciate that we live on a planet that is one of a kind.. where do we go when we have taken all it can give?

Can you tell me if you could travel by Horse and Buggy anymore? I'm sorry, but I would prefer to have car to be able to see my sister and her family this YEAR.. i do want to see the new baby grow up after all, not leave in April and show up when he/she is 6 months old.. its too CONvenient.. life is what it is.

He also makes a good argument for not having more children.. did you know the population has gone up to 9.2 billion people since the 1950s population of about 1 or 2 billion?? HOLY CRAP!?!?!?!
We think the economy is going to crash when the boomers retire.. what is it going to do when the echo generation retires..welcome to the next recession, caused by us having children.. good times!

Anyway.. this wasn't meant to be a rant.. just really meant to be a thought provoker.. we really can't do much beyond saving energy, rather than spending it.. and even then.. i don't think our grand-kids are going to have much left. Its so, so sad what we are doing..
