A couple of weeks ago someone from my
RL mentioned that he'd read my LJ. He thought I was wasting my time
writing fan fiction, and more to the point, wasting other's time
expecting them to read it. Which is a fair point - I know it's not
very good. So I took my stories down.

Right, where was I...that was brilliant. Short but delibrately so and had it been long it would not have worked anywhere near as well. It was poetic and lyrical in places, slow moving, actually felt like slow motion. Which is reflective of the mood. And the flow, the way its perfectly smooth even though there are a lot of transitions just like in the conversations, that's terrifically well done.
The description you use is impressive, its not over the top or so descriptive that it clouds the dialogue but between describing the physcial with those poetic phrases - intricate ( ... )

Then he offered to edit my stories for me. I don't mind people doing it online, but for some reason watching someone playing with my stuff in person makes me want to stick my fingers in my ears and go *la la la - can't hear you*
I fell in love with I'm Not OK the first time I head it. I'm so glad MCR are supporting Green Day in December. I can't wait...

Besides -most of the current writers for the Dr Who series (RTD, Steve Moffat, David Gattis, etc.) started out writing fan fiction for Dr Who, then Dr Who novels for BBC. That's how many of them got started as writers. Who know where your writing my lead you too!!
