And finally...the basement
So the basement started out as two rooms, and we tore the wall down to make it just one big room
I wired recessed lighting cans in the ceiling:

Then we started pulling the bathroom apart and found some rather disturbing stuff. The toilet was just stuck to the floor with some plaster...no bolts, no wax seal...it was bad. Then of course the drain pipe that was attached to the sink was alllll wrong and it leaked in the wall causing some water damage:
So we removed the tub and had a contractor come in and replace the water damaged boards in the wall and reinforce the load bearing floor joists. Unfortunately that was the wall into my brother's bedroom. So we went ahead and had them put a door into the bathroom from his bedroom, since the wall was going to be gone anyway:
So we've got to replace some drywall and paint in my brother's room before he can move back in there.
Now that we've finished destroying things in the basement we can get to actually constructing things. :-) Maybe it'll even get done eventually. *sigh* Wish me luck.
