Now that school has started again, it feels like my life is almost back to normal. There are still some inconveniences, for example it's still difficult to get bottles of water/soft drink and the escalators in the subway stations aren't working. Also, Tokyo is darker than before, but it's good to see everyone cooperating and trying to save energy.
As for myself, I still got an emergency bag in my room and when I leave the house I always carry my passport, some food and iodine tablet with me. With every aftershock I stop what I am doing for a moment to see what happens. But the aftershocks are getting less and less (though that actually freaks me out more, but I don't know why...)
Last week I had a job interview for a very interesting company with lot's of opportunities. I have to wait until the end of the mond for the result, but I really hope I get the job!
Monday my Japanese language school started again and we had an exam. I passed and now I am finally in the advanced class! It was nice to see all the teachers and students again, but it's sad when you realize some of the previous students won't come back and you might never see them again. Because of the chaotic situation after the earthquake (chaotic in the news and other countries, definitely not in Tokyo!!) some of my friends left Japan before we could say goodbye.
This week feels like an exam week: Monday's test, yesterday a kanji test (which I probably failed) and Saturday I am taking the TOEFL test. Not sure what to expect from that one. I am a bit nervous about the speaking part, because it's not face-to-face. I'll be talking to a computer and it will be recorded.
