Happy Days are Here again!!!
Had an amazing day, it was just all overwhelming, I probably won't get the full impact of what I witnessed until months from now. All I know is I was very teary eyed and cheered openly when both Vice President Biden and President Obama were sworn in. I liked the poem and especially liked the closing benediction it was actually hilarious:
Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around -- (laughter) -- when yellow will be mellow -- (laughter) -- when the red man can get ahead, man -- (laughter) -- and when white will embrace what is right.
I took the day off to soak up and be a part of this day and I'm very very glad I did!
