Beaten to the Punch

The other day at work, a PM and a graphic designer were discussing what to name something-or-other, I think it was the next phase of the designing. The office layout is pretty open, so half the office was participating, or at least listening, to the conversation. The previous phase (or whatever) was flashy and sexy without much substance, so it was called Pamela Anderson, and they were looking for a more substantial woman to name this one after. I suddenly remembered that is was a woman, by the name of Lovelace, who was arguably the first computer programmer. For the life of me I couldn't recall her first name, so I quickly looked it up on wikipedia. Just as the page loaded, a guy in the next pod suggested 'Lady Ada Lovelace'. The PM and the designer were thrilled is his suggestioned and congradulated him for his excellent idea. Alas, my fifteen seconds of office-wide fame were stolen from underneath my nose.

It was also noted that 'Lady Lovelace' was a name better suited for an actress in adult films
