Second Weekend in CA

Jan 11, 2009 20:15

After another crazy Saturday of running errands I now have a new cell phone, a US bank account and a toaster. (Toaster was $6 at Goodwill. I take pride in my thrift.) At this point, I can pretty well say that I'm settle here in my temporary home. All that's left is the semi-folding couch and chair thing to arrive from Walmart.

The apartment I am living is pretty nice. The complex its in is pretty cool too. There's a pool, fitness room, theatre room and pool table, most of which I have made use of. Today Dan even attempted to teach me how play pool properly.

The only annoying thing is that there are no grocery stores within walking distance. On Saturday, Dan and I decided to take the town's free 'trolley' do go downtown where the grocery story is. This 'trolley' was the most ridiculous vehicle I had every seen. It was a bus trying very hard to look like an old fashioned trolley, right down to the uncomfortable benches for seats. It was an interesting trip, and we had the opportunity to take a look around the downtown. However, next time I may we may opt to do our shopping online. Besides being a tacky touristy gimmick, the 'trolley's ' schedule isn't very convenient, and anyways, discount on grocery deliver is one of Dan's many Microsoft perks

Note: While composing this this entry, I was interrupted and had to go kill a bug for Dan. Why am I always the resident exterminator?

'Night all.
