Sheeeesh. I emerged with my two new teeth this morning at about 7:45 a.m. I thought, "Ooh! I can go check out the brand new Target!" Then my car made an Uh sound or maybe an ow, so instead I took it to the local garage, and got driven to the courthouse. For court.
Turns out that it was the water pump and the bearing in the a/c compressor. But, since the bearing could seize the serpentine belt and put me on the side of the road, I authorized service. I suppose I didn't need that $600. I'm just grateful I didn't get wildly optimistic and pay all my taxes yet. (Installment plan)
As I'm sure Susan's Aunt Betty would say, that stopped my laughing in church...only, really, hardly anything stops me laughing in church, especially if I'm anywhere near either my friend Stacy: we embarrass her daughter. Or my friend Tim, who is now trying to drag me back on the Pastoral Council just because he doesn't want to type up the agenda. He and I had a lengthy argument at lunch that Adam Baldwin is not related to "the" Baldwin brothers. He wouldn't even have seen "Firefly" and "Serenity" if I hadn't loaned them to him. He didn't quite realize that Nathan Fillion had joined "Desperate Housewives", saying, "But I'm not watching the men. " I told him to yuk it up, and see who he'd borrow "Waitress" from. Boy, if he is appointed to be the new judge, I will so get it in the neck.
Anyway, my office partner took me home and my secretary is picking me up tomorrow. And I had a sample of cereal in my mail today.
