"Guy Who Got A Headache And Accidentally Saves The World"
'The Clouds Taste Metallic'
The Flaming Lips

Magnified up close, in pickle jar
Is the last hope the world has... yeah, (yeah), yeah, (yeah)

Thinkin that his head surely would explode
His thoughts go deeper than ever... yeah, (yeah), yeah, (yeah)

Something never dreamed in all the science books
The biggest light switch gets turned on yeah, (yeah), yeah, (yeah)

He's on the way to a real first
In all the universe... yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
He saves the day and the world knows
The sonic boom explodes

Hesitant to tell the real reason, the nobel prize is given...  yeah, (yeah), yeah, (yeah)
It's hard to celebrate with a headache... (yeah), yeah, (yeah), yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

He's on the way to the real first
In all the universe... yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Let's go!)
He saves the day and the world knows.
So watch his head explode, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
(Let's go!)

The boy wonder who saves the planet but destroys his ever-enlarging brain in the process.
Goodbye everybody, have a happy life.
It looks like brighter days are ahead for the whole planet.
There we go.

The last few weeks have been pretty hard for me, but I know people who have had it much harder, and so I cannot complain too much.  Its all about perspective.

I don't care to go into details here, but both my work and family life have been ever-increasing madness lately.  At work I am staying afloat, and even shining at moments, but its still very, very stressful.  On the family front, I may be having to spend quite a bit of time up in Toledo, my friends will understand what that means.

Still, with all this, I was in a pretty good mood all day today (Thursday).  I was sorta surprised, my mood is usually "indifferent" and yet today I was smiling all the time, making jokes, and generally having a decent time.  A good part of this may be due to the fact that as of 4:00 PM last night, my decent-size ditital musical had but one Flaming Lips song, "SpongeBob and Patrick Confront the the Psychic Wall of Energy" (great, great song, btw).  However, as of 4:15 PM, I had a digital version of every Flaming Lips song they ever commercially released (and plenty they didn't), thanks to a great find on usenet.  While I own every major Flaming Lips CD's, I've never gotten around to "backing them up" in mp3 format, but now I have their whole collection, which rocks.  I burnt this collection onto a DVD+R and listened to four of their records at work today, which got me a couple weird looks, the Lips are a very intersting band to listen to afterall. However, having them on as backroung music in my office really made my day.  I didn't mind several more major projects falling into my lap, which is already overfilling, didn't mind a complete blow-up with one of my main contractors, and I didn't mind working three hours late.  Good music can make a difference.
