I'm following
zellion and I hope to make it. I'm counting the books that I'm reading to Mathias at nap time, since they are "real" books, the books I'm reading with Steve and the books that I am "re reading."
Read:
- The Persian Pickle Club, Sandra Dallas - read because my mom's book club was reading it and since our ward doesn't have a book club, I thought I would read the books for hers and I'd have someone to talk to about it.
- The End, Lemony Snickett - last book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, kind of sad, like all of the books in this series, and I'm not sure how I feel about some of the messages in the books, but I think he did an awesome job with the series, anyway
- Talking to Dragons, Patricia C. Wrede - favorite of mine, read to Mathias for naptime
- Something M.Y.T.H. Inc. - Robert Asprin - good book and the last in Asprin's M.Y.T.H. series
- Sorcery and Cecilia, Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer- favorite, started to read to Mathias but he kept asking for the sword book so I finished it on my own.
- The Grand Tour, Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer - sequel to Sorcery and not as good imo, but still enjoyable
- Caught in Crystal, Patricia C. Wrede
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Betty Smith - for my mom's bookclub, a downer
- Birth of the Firebringer, Meredith Ann Pierce - favorite, Firebringer Triology book 1
- Dark Moon, M. A. Pierce - Firebringer Triology book 2, nap time reading, favorite
- Black Sun Rising, C. S. Friedman - Coldfire Trilogy book 1, not good enough to want to read the rest.
- The Mislaid Magician, Patricia C. Wrede & Caroline Stevermer - very good
- The Son of Summer Star, Meredith Ann Pierce - Firebringer Trilogy book 3, very good
- The Blue Sword, Robin McKinley - naptime reading, favorite
- The Girl of the Limberlost, Gene Stratton-Porter - recommended by a friend from my ward, I'm loved it
- Hero's Crown, Robin McKinley - favorite
- Sarek, A. C. Crispin - favorite
- Magician: Apprentice, Raymond Feist - enjoyed
- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, J. K. Rowling - favorite
- The Blue Girl, Charles de Lint - recommended
- Kitty and The Midnight Hour, Carrie Vaughn - recommended with a warning (see raisinfish's review for more info)
- Magician: Master - Raymond E. Feist - enjoyed, rambles a bit, would be a very different novel if published today, weak female characters, but fun
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J. K. Rowling, favorite
- The Discipline Book, William Sears, MD & Martha Sears, R.N.
- Spock's World, Diane Duane - very good
- Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban, J. K. Rowling - favorite HP book

- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, J. K. Rowling - read to the boys
- Hallowmere: The Serpent's Coils, Tiffany Trent - enjoyed it
- Alcatraz and the Evil Librarians, Brandon Sanderson - a lot of fun
- Crocodile on the Sandbank, Elizabeth Peters - good, this series is a favorite of my mother's and I really enjoy the characters. I love all things Regency England.
- The Curse of the Pharoahs, Elizabeth Peters - good, I've never finished the series, so I think I will wait to decide which is my favorite book
- The Mummy Case, Elizabeth Peters - good, but not my favorite
- Lion in the Valley, Elizabeth Peters - yay for sexy villians!
- Deeds of the Disturber, Elizabeth Peters - in England
- Meet the Austins, Madeleine L'Engle - good, my first Austin book, though I've loved the Murray series since I was in middle school
- Eric, Terry Pratchett - good, but not my favorite
- The Hippopotamus Pool, Elizabeth Peters - good, some of the plot elements felt contrived, but the character responses are what makes this book cool.
- Seeing A Large Cat, Elizabeth Peters - good
- The Ape Who Guards the Balance, Elizabeth Peters - good
- The Falcon at the Portal, Elizabeth Peters - good

- Harriet the Spy, Louise Fitzhugh
