I was searching through AO3 earlier for more Skyrim fics and found these two wonderful, wonderful gems.
The Nine Lives of M'aiq the Liar - "M'aiq's father was also called M'aiq. As was M'aiq's father's father. At least, that's what his father said." M'aiq's dad didn't mention the rest of it: the sex, the drugs, the violence...the sweetroll...
and
The Anticipations - "There had been mishaps at first, yes - bafflement - attempted murder - as they tried to compass who she was, why she didn’t flinch when they came at her in their ragtag armor with stolen swords and axes waving. But she’d sat them down and served them tea, and soon they had understood." The residents of Fort Greymoor do not bother Agnis. They just let her clean...and weave. Rampant lore-driven speculation as to the identity of this odd little NPC.
Edit to add this one, I was so blown away by the imagery and the story is absolutely gorgeous.
Breaking the Dragon - "When the other Dragonborn takes her gauntleted hand in her gloved one to point at the statue of the dragon that crouches high over the altar, it is the same. Recognizeable. Always the same. Akatosh. Alduin." When you try to slay an aspect of the God of Time, time shatters - as two very different Dragonborns find out.
This one has spoilers.
