OH MAN it's so awesome I had to post! I had a lucid dream last night woooo! I have had many lucid dreams in the past, they always just kind of happened, and I always enjoy them, but I hadn't had one in a long time! And then I sa=tared reading about it, and getting very interested in being able to do it well and often, because it is an incredible resource for learning about yourself and getting answers from your subconcious mind and they are also freaking fun. Because you can do ANYTHING. So last night, after dreaming about a pirate ship, and some other things that I can't remember because I didn't write them down ((GRR)), I dreamed about my brother and I walking down an lane in a forest, big giant trees all around, and wondering "hmmmm. Am I dreaming?" And then doing The Test that I have always done: I run and jump, and if I fly, I'm dreaming. And of course I zipped up into the air and just laughed and laughed! It is SUCH a rush, I mean, there is nothing like it! I thought 'd try to fly up as high as I xcould go, because as one forum poster pointed out, just because we percieve nothing being wayyy up, aside from the sky and planets and whatnot, so most of our dreaming goes on on the ground. But I started to get dizzy and had to come back down. I showed my brother how to fly (this is something I have always done in flying dreams, teach the people I am with how to do it too), and then we ended up in this darned house I keep coming back to in my dreams, and I was listening to people lecture on the common themes in dreams of all people, but I really just wanted to go out and explore but I couldn't get the windows open. It's kind of a stuffy victorian home with lots of hallways and clocks. Next time I will just walk through the wall and see where I end up!
bout a week ago a Raccoon came to visit our apartment! He has discovered the cat food that stay on the window sill. Justin caught him in the act, and ran to get the camera (I wasn't there, and he knew I'd love to see it!) and the coon just let him take pictures before eventually leaving. And then he came back a few nights ago but the window was closed. He was puching on it with his paws and sniffing around the edges and I got right up next to him and he was beautiful!!! It's the closest I've ever been to araccoon without having it run away immediately, I was right up next to the window, and he eventually decided he was tired of me gushing over him and crawled into the gutter on the roof. It was awesome!!! Raccoons are so cool!!!
My mom's rat has been living with us while she was in Ocala, Florida (at a Rainbow Gathering, bunch of hippies and peaceful people living in the woods for a couple weeks, pretty cool deal). You wouldn't believe how AFFECTIONATE this animal is! He CRAVES affection, he leans into petting and just goes blank and quiet if you scratch his head, and grinds his teeth and his eyes wiggle with glee. It's unreal. Rats are so misunderstood!
I think I am going to go have a nap and try for lucidity again. Are any of you interested in this aspect of dreaming? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter!
