Sorry you're stressing out about graduation. It is a pretty scary time. You're getting a really awesome degree, you'll find a job eventually don't worry too much! ( I know it's hard not to worry though)
I totally understand you about having parents that are in a financial pinch. My parents are super poor, and all of my friend's parents are rich, it can be totally frustrating seeing how spoiled my friends are/have been. My parents didn't go to college, my mom makes very little money working in the school cafeteria, and my dad makes little money for someone his age too (I'm making more than my dad right out of college) but they both work really hard. It was hard for my parents to even help me out with money to go to UH, so I had to do it all on my own through scholarships. It sucks big time, doesn't it? I have so much spoiled friends that their parents buy them cars, downpayment for a house, pays their cell phone bills, paid for their entire weddings, paid for their college. I had to do everything on my own, and it was/still is hard. Thats why I'm still living at home, saving up some money. Totally sucks. I have many friends whose parents bought them a place, can you believe that? My mom always says that money isn't everything, but it sure would help.
Anyways, just find a cheap place to have your graduation party at. I had a small one at a chinese restaurant and the price was not bad. The money that everyone gave me for graduation pretty much paid for the party and I had lots left over, and the Chinese restaurant deal was fairly classy. We did a buffet lunch (came out way cheaper than ordering the 10 course meals) and I don't think the chinese restaurant made me do a downpayement, but I only had about 40 people coming (it was small).
