Back is still bothering me and it's still just a titch warm, so I sloughed off walking again last night. I went home, ate dinner...and then lost my motivation for the night. There was stuff I 'needed' to do: laundry, put dishes away, take trash out, knit, etc. but I was feeling simultaneously too restless and too lazy to do any of that. Tired, but too early at 6:30 to go to bed.
Instead, I gave into the impulse to spin, and wound up doing that the rest of the night while watching this week's "Castle" and "Glee", catching up on "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" and "Fringe", at least until the new episode aired last night and put me behind again. *laugh* :)
I have shit I'd like to talk about regarding "Fringe", but
harleymae is the only person other than
wildpaletz and
senatorhatty I know who watches it, and Mae, at least, is behind now so I grump. *grump* Or maybe I'll write a post about it. I don't know.
But I'm pleased with the spinning. I'm working on my second unit of fiber, a braid from Royal Hare that I'm working on trying to spin very thin and at least practice the concept of color reinforcement during plying. I finished the first plait on Saturday, and worked on the second last night, plowing through until it, too, was plyed. I think I did a better job of both spinning it thinner and getting some color reinforcement, but I need to skein it up at the store at lunchtime to verify that.
The inability to get it very thin is mildly frustrating to me. This is merino, I know it can go really f'ing thin, but every time I get that thin, it breaks as it gets to the bobbin. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, I just need to find out what.
