The idea of editing/censoring movies so that your kids can enjoy them really disturbs and angers me. First of all, no one should censor someone elses creative work (book, film, whatever). Secondly, if a movie needs to be edited in order for your kids to see it, then its obviously not a movie your kids should be watching to being with. The more I think about it, it really makes me sad that so many people are jumping on this moral soap box trying to make everything all nice and pretty and fit into there worlds (oh this movie is too violent or has too many sex scenes, oh but I can make it fit into my world by changing it)...when what really needs to happen is people embrace other cultures and differences among people instead of trying to change them and make them fit into their own world. This is why so many "morally conservative" people are intolerant, they feel that everything should be the way they want it to be or have the option of changing it. Where does it stop: they want to change the constitution to "protect" marriage, they want to edit movies they disapprove of so they can enjoy them too, they want to ban books, convert non-believers or people of other faiths to there own faith, they want to censor music lyrics and ban John Maplethorpe....instead of just accepting them for what they are.
