[Rocky] OOC/IC In Honor of the Mortals Venue

Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love... true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn't matter if it's true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because those are the things worth believing in.

[Way in the future, somewhere in Laconia,]

"I actually feel sorry for Dr. Quinn." said one guy in the bar.

"Hehe, Dr. Quinn. Wasn't that a TV show way back then with a chick?"

"Quit it," said the bartender, "Dr. Quinn has seen horrors that you've never seen, seen things you've never witnessed."

"Oh please he's a kook..."

The bartender looked at him, "A kook that saved your life when you got shot two years ago."

"Yeah but..."

"A kook that saved your life when you got stabbed by the wrong end of a broken bottle a year ago..."

"Yeah but..."

"A kook that..."

"Okay Okay Okay, I know I know, he's a great doctor, but it doesn't mean he's not a kook."

"A kook that could kick your ass, like that time..."

Rocky just sat in the corner booth, a bit glassy eyed and silent as usual. To the right of him was one of the bottles of wine he bought many years ago. He was on his last bottle. The bottles were hard to come by to find exact dates.

He was no where near being a drunk. He came into this bar every evening, had one shot of sipping whiskey to warm the bones. People left him alone, except when they had something to prove, which turned into "Let's pick on the old guy." which left most people on the floor. People left him alone here except when Johnny did something stupid and got shot, stabbed, had alcohol poisoning, etc.

That, and he found out that members had put an associate to watch him, who was behind the bar.

He was retired from the Arcanist life. He was organized, he had initiative, he had drive, but at the same time, he was the roadblock of the old guard of the Arcanum. Honestly he was probably watched because they were waiting for him to blow something up and bring the New Arcanum down.

Things passed by, he continued his practice, and continued being in mourning for the dead. He finished the last of the wine from his last bottle and...and....and...

"Dr. Quinn, last call." said the bartender. Everyone had left this small bar in Laconia, "Dr. Quinn, hello, are you there?"

"You always were stubborn Rocky," Mina said, "Terri is waiting for you."

"Well, if I put a gun to my head, I wouldn't have had the same results would I."

"She's going to kick your ass for not moving on."

"That's true."

"We could have made that easy for you."

"That might have been true, but I wasn't going to chance it. I mean even Brutus died later on."

"True, Still, doesn't mean that Terri isn't going to kick your ass for making her wait."

"That's true."
