It took time, getting Merle to allow her to use one of his portals...mainly because she had to deal with the ramifications of being back from the dead. The joy, the tears...the hugs that made her skin crawl and the declarations of love and concern that made her ache inside.
//There's probably a word for what you're dealing with now.// she mused to herself as she strolled along the relatively quiet New York street. Some strange, alien psychological term for a fear of being touched...that's what came with being raped and murdered.
Still, she wasn't going to dwell...not yet. She was back from the dead...back from the freaking dead. There was good in that...and later, when it was safe to go home? She could have herself a nice, neat little nervous breakdown. For now, though, she had to stay under the radar...out of the bullseye of the man who had brought her back from the grave.
Pushing her dark thoughts aside, Terry adjusted the too-big leather jacket she was wearing...stolen off some biker's bike back in LA, along with the clothes she'd picked up from unattended dryers at a laundromat so she could change out of her funeral dress. The thought was still creepy enough to make her shiver as she sought out the skate park Michelangelo had told her about...
There. Up ahead she saw the ramps and sighed with relief, grinning as she jogged through an alley (with no small amount of trepidation)...then finally emerged under a street light clearly once installed for safety, but now relegated to illuminating a world no longer occupied by human life.
Just turtles.
Spotting a figure up ahead, she called out cheerfully. "Right on time...I can already tell this date's gonna be awesome!"
