David Reilly Night III has come and gone. This was far and away the best of the three, as I employed willing guitar player Brandon Frye to pick up his acoustic for me. It was also perhaps the least-attended one of the three. But those who showed, enjoyed. That's what it's all about.
Missed another day of posting. What can you do?
Sci-Fi aired the last chunk of Gurren Lagann on Monday. Sad to see it go, but I won't miss the whine of the VCR between 11PM and midnight. It actually had a somewhat definitive ending, but with enough details left out that you still wind up going "hey wait a minute-- what about...?" I'll take it.
In other news, I've finally gotten around to picking up Beast Wars on DVD. I hadn't watched the show in a long time and it's aged... strangely. Watching it definitely takes me back to Super Mario 64, as the graphics of the show were much like a souped-up version of the same. The writing, music, and voice-acting hold up very well. Easily a chunk of the Ocean Group voice cast's best work. Cheeseball comfort food at its finest.
Next: Time Travelers.
