I rewatched The Adventure of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert last Friday, because there was a viewing for Pride week and I'd wanted to show it to my friend Julie anyway. This, in turn, reawakened my love for Tick & Adam's relationship, and especially Adam's character.
I love this fic because, essentially, it's from Adam's POV and completely nails him as a character--or at least, the version of him that exists in my head. The entire tone of the story manages the same equilibrium as the movie, which is to stay mostly light without pretending like negative things don't exist--in this case, by quietly touching on Adam and Tick's trauma from what happened in Coober Peddy--and also gives a lot of possibilities for the future dynamics between tick, Adam and (in a smaller way) Benji. It's a lovely piece of fiction all around and I recommend both it and the movie it was inspired by :D
