Preemptive excuses

There's no way I'm going to get a chapter done in the next week (which would be a month after the last posting), so I thought I'd get to my excuses early. I'm a little more than halfway through the next OWS chapter, but it's slow going with homework getting in the way. *sigh* Can I tell you how much I wish school was done with? It's Intermediate ( Read more... )

Heh, thankies for the birthday wish. I'm not too big on celebrating, anyway, so it was nicer to get that work done and not have to worry about it later in the week.

*laugh* Statistics is very much a 'just pass it and move on' type of course. My poor project partner is struggling with the course, but with the project and final, she's hoping for a passing grade so that she never has to touch this stuff again.

Bah, I'm not thin in the least. Average, maybe, but not thin. But yeah, that's the whole genetic component that makes all of this frustrating. I talked with my mother and she laughed at the diet thing. She said she tried the diet route and her cholesterol actually went up. ^^; I imagine the same will be for me since my dietitian was horrified by my protein levels (about half of what it should be) and she wants me to eat more protein. More meat will probably lead to more cholesterol. =P

The 'funny' thing about my uncle is that he's a nurse of sorts and understands that he needs to lose weight. He didn't even want to check his cholesterol until my mother made him. *shakes head* That's what happens when you have a genetic component and eat fast food almost everyday.

Heh, I never even thought of that protein problem. It's true that eating more meat would up your cholesterol, so I guess you're stuck with peanuts and eggs. (Hope you have a better stomach than I do, cause neither of those two foods agree with me. ;^; ) Also, it's never fun to be scolded by your doctor. Mostly because, in my case, I sit there knowing I'm not going to follow their orders. XD; I'm a terrible patient...

And bad form from your uncle! Though, to be fair, I have an aunt who's a nurse and she's smoked for a majority of her life. I guess it's hard to give up some things even when you know they're going to do you in.

Yeah, my dietitian was rather amused because eating too much is usually the issue she deals with. I just don't feel like eating until I'm actually hungry, which means I don't cook and meat usually requires cooking. =P But I get her point. I was really low on the protein scale, so I'm trying other things. Like you say, nuts are on the list, though almonds are the big ones. Everyday, 1/4c of almonds. ;)

I've noticed a lot of nurses who lead unhealthy lifestyles, which is promoted by the job it seems. Like eating a donut breakfast because it's fast and there.
