i'm procrastinating procrastination

In answer to the questions pertaining to my living or death status, well, I suppose I'm alive. Sorry to keep everyone waiting, but it's been a very long and stressful couple of months. I'll rant about it later, but for now...

I've updated 'For Nothing, For Everything,' which is currently at chapter seven and going strong. The story is finally moving along in the direction we all want, though I still have a ways to go before this story is even close to wrapping up. I'm thinking of taking a short break from the story and attempting a chapter of another story that I want to write. We'll see how that goes. Oh, and with this update, I have a lovely picture of Squall from Ruth. Can't wait for her to get back home from Peru.

So yeah, it's been annoying lately. I had the convention which wiped me out for wanting to deal with people. And then, my wonderful coworker got promoted, so I'm currently working with a person who is thankfully a hard worker, but damn, he's slow! And that doesn't help in a high throughput lab. It's also sad that's he's been working at my job for almost a year longer than me, and yet he asks me how to do certain things. Please, I have enough work to get done that I don't need to be helping you! He also keeps saying he'll be fired any day now (on the weekend shift, he was involved with some *huge* mistakes), which he is actually somewhat looking forward to, so that means I could end up with a newbie to train. That won't be good.

In addition to that stuff, I just get weird this time of the year. I get all depressed and decide it'd be more fun to curl into a little ball and hide in a corner rather than communicate with the rest of the world. So if I'm slow with replies to emails and posts, that's the reason why. I'm lucky to have friends who won't let me hide for too long. =P

At least the Avalanche (my hockey team) is showing some great promise. I'm loving most of the people we picked up before the season, and the veterans seem to have a new energy. I don't know if it's because they're playing hockey again after a year-long strike or because of the new rules, but the game feels faster. And watching the Vancouver games was great. The announcers kept commenting, "And by the sounds of booing, Bertuzzi has apparently stepped back onto the ice." I went to the first game, and yes, the hate is there. For the last minute of the game, we were all chanting 'Bertuzzi sucks!'. I hope Moore heard how the fans are behind him.

Well, I'm off to carve pumpkins. Happy Halloween all!
