I am finding this picture highly amusing.

Nothing, after all, could possibly say Roma so perfectly as the Colosseum...and a guy dressed up in a Roman costume...holding a [probably one of the ubiquitous Forum Strays] cat.

We have kittens! Coco had a litter of four on August 31: three orange and one white. I just got home for Labor Day weekend and got to see them; Mom lured Coco in the house for food so I could take pictures. It appears that all four kittens are male! Usually there is nearer a 50-50 ratio; I don't think we've ever had a litter all the same sex. ( Read more... )

Got an e-mail from Mom: Coco has had her kittens, three orange and one white. I've been away from home too long: I forgot she was even pregnant. But I get to go home and see the mewlings tomorrow!

We had Independence Day dinner yesterday at the home of my sister & brother-in-law. Her cat Sammy is currently recovering from some sort of inner ear problem that has him walking sideways and occasionally losing balance and falling over, so he's temporarily confined to the basement.
