Viva La Vinyl

Finally, bought Vitalogy. The disc comes in an old fashioned faded vinyl disk holder case, cd size here. The inside booklet is very impressive, though i don't get the overall theme of the album. The second song, "Spin the Black Circle" is about the vinyl disks, with song going like...

See this needle,... see my hand drop drop dropping it down,.. oh so gently
here it comes,... touch the plane..
it goes like that.

Now here's some publicity to this guy called sisyphus, whom i had encountered a long time back, and in fact i had mentioned about him in my earlier blog. At first sight, he's the greek counterpart of our very own Naranathu Bhranthan but the similiarity ends at rolling the rock. This guy was punished eternally for messing with the gods, and was to roll the rock to the top of the hill where it tumbles back  down.

The connection:
Inside the CD booklet, at the end of the 3rd song, "Not For You", Vedder had scribbled thses lines... which don't appear in the song.

Oh, Yeh call me Sysiphus    love.....
Yeh, I move the rock......
I just don't want to talk about
Moving the Rock
get pictures taken of me while
Moving the Rock
Anything that distracts... me...  from....
Moving the rock

btw, NaranathuBhranthan is available now at the kewl goose.

music, mythology, pearl jam
