As much as I love Wash/Taylor (and I do, I was shipping them from episode one), Guz/Mira is my crack OTP. Well, not that cracky because if you watch the first two episodes there is so much tension between them that I can't help but believe that they DID have something going on. It's the subtlety! During the standoff with Mira and Taylor and later when Guz confronts Taylor in the clinic for his giving the Sixers medical supplies. I mean, tell me his walking away from his commander didn't reek with tension and frustration. I dare you. LoL
Anyway, this was fabulous! The mutual confessions about Ayani was something that I'd hoped someone would write about so thank you. There is no doubt that Ayani was a wonderful person and that Taylor truly loved her but I've always thought that Wash was a better fit, a soulmate as you will. There is more than one person out there for everyone but some are more suited in my opinion. I do think if Wash had been in the picture before Ayani (and older perhaps) things would've worked out for them. But then again, perhaps his life with Ayani was a major factor in molding Taylor into the man Wash would come to fall in love with.
And I loved that she began to fall in love with him once they arrived in Terra Nova and not before. As much as I love angst and the whole unrequited love thing is appealing in some sense, I can't bare to think of her pining away. I think if she did have any romantic feelings for him she would've removed herself from that environment especially if she considered Ayani a friend. You know what I mean?
Are you going to write anything on the proposals by Guz and Carter? That would be awesome! That reminds me that I need to get to work on my own fic. It's been a while. (:

Thank you so much for this review - interesting that you wrote this: "But then again, perhaps his life with Ayani was a major factor in molding Taylor into the man Wash would come to fall in love with" - I actually had the same thought. I feel like Taylor is optimistic but with a dark side - and in my mind, some of that optimism could've been a sort of gift from Ayani.
I also have trouble imagining Wash pining or having a less-than-above-board relationship with Taylor - I just feel like the characters are both too honorable and loyal to betray Ayani.
And I'd not been thinking about Guz and Carter's plans. Now I am. It's going to be from Wash and Taylor's POV (theirs are just the voices I hear in my head), but I feel another multi-chapter fic coming on - Going to the Chapel it is. ; ) It may take a bit for me to get it going. The next eight days for me are the busiest of the year at my job - major deadline on April 30 - of course, writing actually helps me to relax, so I may sneak it in when I have free time here and there.
