I'm so glad I didn't pay much attention to y'all chatting about this so it's nice and fresh. And my favourite Wash isn't dead anthem came on as I started this. How fitting.

I can picture that dangerous posture perfectly. So Wash, in any universe.

Oh god that's eerily beautiful. Describing her taking over the colony It's just so rich and indulgent, balanced by the ascetic nature of their characters.

And the love/hate/life/death mixture at the end of the first part there...

Aww Taylor wearing both their tags like a life ring around his neck. Perfect. (As an aside, this story has already imprinted itself on my brain and capacity to think straight so much that I had to google that cause I couldn't remember what they were called.)

Ooo, the parallels between Wash killing Frank and Taylor watching his Wash die. Lovely.

Kind of understand Wash there. Taylor's going to be quite physically attractive in any universe. ;) And I like the idea that Taylor would look younger than Frank. I suppose duty brings its own stresses, but having to always look over your shoulder like Frank did would age someone pretty quickly.

Wash's straightforward and emotionless statement of her name and rank. Very soldier-y and suiting to this alt's personality versus Wash 1.0. Or would this be Wash 1.0? I don't know. Suppose it depends on the notion of which one is "new and improved" like software or whatnot.

Well Wash and I are in agreement on that one. I also prefer Elisabeth with a spine. Can imagine her wilting behavior in the other universe.

Haha Jim. Facing his energy is sort of the equivalent of throwing this new Wash into the deep end fully clothed and seeing how well she can swim.

I don't know who it's crueler to, this Wash or the others in the colony with whom she interacts that she pretends to be like the old Wash.

Ugh the name Frank really doesn't suit him. And not just because of familiarity with him as Nathaniel, but Frank takes a certain kind of person, and none of the Taylors fit that.

Poor Taylor seeing Wash all scarred like that. I know that sounds bad to not seem as sympathetic towards Wash, but Taylor's so much more of a bleeding heart. And this story and this situation brings it out so much more in him than I think anything in the main Terra Nova universe ever could.

Oh lord the look on Jim's face when Wash told him about his sexual prowess. XD Priceless. Trolling the troll.

The ending has a bittersweet tinge to it. Fits Wash's outlook, but also with a layer of Taylor and Shannon's boundless optimism.

This is the sort of fic that makes me want to walk around outside contemplating life. Fortunately or unfortunately (I can't quite decide which) strolling about Rock Creek Park at 11pm is not a smart idea. Wonderful wonderful work.

SEE THIS: ^________________________________^

DO YOU SEE THAT? That is my face right now. I hope you're happy. I look ridiculous. xD

I have taken to calling canon Wash Wash!Prime for funsies. Mostly because I just like calling them the Prime characters because I'm an ultra nerd. I regret nothing.

And yeah. Frank just doesn't fit him, does it? It's a lot less heroic and elegant. Which I suppose fit that character but certainly doesn't fit the character it becomes.

:( Poor Taylor indeed. Him and his heart. The poor guy just gets it ripped out and stomped out all the time. And I like to imagine, in my head, that it eventually all works out alright between them. :)

Thank you so much for this, lovely. It means the world to me that you enjoyed this story. And please don't go for a stroll at that hour lol. I'd MUCH rather you stayed safe. *snuggles*

You goddess.
