Lakehouse Craziness
So, this past weekend, in order to celebrate the 4th of July, a couple of the Engineering group went up to my Dad's lakehouse for the weekend. There was much fun to be had by all. Fireworks were bought, and boats were sailed. I'm going to give a quick briefing on what happened in an itinerary format.
Cast:
Kyle Erdbruegger - Mechanical Engineer
Randall "RJ" Johnson - Nuclear Engineer
Joseph "Joe" Blubough - Computer Engineer
Katherine "Kat" Frank - Materials Science Engineer
Isaac jones - Computer Engineer
Friday:
1:30pm - Kyle, RJ, and Isaac aquire food at Payless for the weekend
4:45pm - Kyle and Isaac, after watching one of the soccer games, leave to pick up all interested parties for departure
5:00pm - Departure
7:00pm - Arrival at the Lake house
< Note: after this time, all times are approximate to due time zone confusion and not really caring what time it was>
7:45pm - Attempt to take out powerboat #1
7:55pm - Realization that powerboat actualy did require a boat plug, and that it had been removed
8:05pm - Insertion of Boat Plug, draining of boat, and successful boat ride
9:00pm - Boat Returns, casual hanging out beings
10:00pm - Beginning of Capital Risk game #1. The game lasts 3 turns, and ends with victory to RJ
10:30pm - End of Capital Risk game, fireworks fired, and eventually, bed
Saturday:
9:00am - Most parties awake, shed unlocked after trouble finding keys, sails for Hobie Cat set up.
9:30am - Hobie Cat party leaves, Kyle and Isaac stay to start up the Jet Ski
10:00am - Jet Ski started after call to Dad, Kyle and Isaac depart for great fun
~11:00am - Isaac and Kat switch parties, and both groups eventually return to the house
12:30pm - Lunch is finished by all, Kyle and Kat having returned earler due to wind direction and tacking problem
1:00pm - Attempt to start powerboat, failure
1:30pm - Isaac takes out Jet Ski, Kyle and joe take out Catamaran, RJ opts for nap, and Kat opts for book-reading
2:00pm - Isaac ejected from Jet Ski, sunglasses KIA.
2:30pm - Kyle and Joe capsize Catamaran, somehow. Dad meets all parties out on the lake with now-fuctional powerboat
3:30pm - All return to house, tubing organized, waterskiing rejected due to chopiness
4:00pm - First tubing adventure, Isaac is driver, brutalizes Joe, somehow ripping the tube in the process.
4:30pm - Second tubing adventure, with new tube and newly awaken RJ, Isaac remains driver, Kat and Joe tube. At some point, the robe gets tangled in the prop, and Isaac untangles the rope. Joe and Isaac switch places.
6:00pm - Dinner cooked and served, and one episode of House viewed
8:00pm - Drive-in visted, Superman Returns viewed
12:00pm - Return from drive-in, another episode of House watched
1:00am - Bed
Sunday:
11:00am - All awaken, Kyle takes out Jet Ski, Joe takes out Hobie Cat
12:30pm - All return, lunch eaten
1:00pm - Second game of Capital Risk, RJ wins, but the battle is more hard-fought. RJ's luck with dice comes in question
2:00pm - Preparations to leave begin, Kyle takes out Jet Ski for a final run
3:30pm - Leaving preparations complete, car packed and house locked up.
3:45pm - Departure, joe drives
5:15pm - Arrival in West Lafayette, dispersal of participants
6:15pm - This Livejournal post
All in all, a very fun weekend.
