STATEMENTS ABOUT THE WORLD AS I SEE IT
Feeling inspired by
holdouttrout 's entertaining lists and
odakota_rose 's randomness, I just feel I have to make a couple of statements.
sela21k, please forgive that I am repeating my comment to your post. I meant it sincerely and want to record it in my own journal for posterity's sake.
1. About Tim Russert: "He was one of the good guys, for sure. I just always felt he was this voice of sanity and stability in the often vitriolic arena of the media and politics. Always a smile. Never an uncharitable word. No trace of elitism. Our country needed him. And I fear there is no one who can fill his role with the same quality, graciousness and objectivity."
2. After watching Stargate SG-1's Episode "Crusade:" I think Claudia Black is one of the best actors ever and I can't understand why she hasn't progressed to more significant roles. I must qualify that however, and say, "...as long as the makers of said production don't try to get rid of her accent. Her guest appearances on "Moonlight" and "The Dresden Files" were not her best moments. Let her speak naturally, as on SG-1, "Farscape" and "Pitch Black." Michael Shanks, on the other hand, will never win any acting awards. He is just eye candy.
3. I HAVE AN INTERVIEW! at the University of Michigan Hospital's Microbiology lab on Wednesday. How cool is that?! I haven't even graduated, yet. I already passed the phone interview. They said they already feel comfortable I would be a good fit, and all that remains is to meet me in person to be sure - and of course, I have to pass my certification exam in July. And I have to like them, too. In my disappointing life, I've taught myself not to get my hopes up too high. But this could potentially be very cool.
4. I hate shopping. Yesterday, I had to search for interview clothes, since I've grown another size in the last year. I was further reminded how oddly shaped I am and much I need to lose weight. I have yet to understand why that despair does not lead to a commitment to change my eating and exercising behaviors.
