I finally developed the courage to create a space for my sims 2 stuff. I know, I know--I'm very late to this party. But there is still some vitality in this community, so I figured I'd finally give this a try. I have been a lurker in the sims community since the first expansion pack for the original sims games came out. Way back in 2006 I released this set of rather crappy default face replacements. I also made some small contributions here.
Face replacements are still the only custom content I make. About every 6 months I have the urge to make another set. I'd like to think I've become better at it, but I'm not an artist and I still have little regard for normal human proportions. ;) In the future I hope to share some of my work. For now, however, I just want a place to dump pictures and commentary from my game--even if no one else cares. And I'd like to finally start commenting on some of the journals I've admired for years now.
Also, as someone who is actually more afraid of talking to people online than dealing with them in meatspace (you should see how long it takes me to write a two-sentence email), this is a way of challenging myself.
I became a fan of the sims the day I came home from school and saw my brother playing the Goth household. He had bought the game impulsively; little did he know it would become my obsession, and our younger cousin's obsession as well. The Goths were also my first household in The Sims 2, but I started playing with custom neighborhoods from almost the beginning. I keep trying to get interested in TS3, but the spark isn't there for me yet. So I'm still a faithful Sims 2 dork.
