Slump

Bah, for some reason, I just can't get working on that personal statement for medical school... It's like, I have it all planned out, but it's not coming out of my head...

...I should just suck it up and write it, shouldn't I...

So, in lieu of doing real work, I'm going to do "fake work" =D

In other words, random notes on SC!

I don't even remember the last time I even put something like a character profile for anyone up here, and I don't remember the last time I described these characters to anyone, even. I introduced them to my friends so long ago...

Ah well. They've changed quite a bit since then o_o I wonder what you guys'll think of the difference XD

Hix:
Hix is a fairly "normal" person. A bit passive, and tries his hardest to do what others ask of him, even if it's at the ocst of his own safety. However, because of this, and because he wants to make as many happy as possible, he comes across as very indecisive in big situations as well.

Generally, he works alone, but that's not really because he dislikes human company. He feels more secure taking things into his own hands -- less variables to worry about. His insistence on this can come out as stubbornness. He also has trouble worrying about things he really doesn't care about (in other words, he's a horrible actor).

Despite the fact that he seems like a calm-headed person, sometimes he just rushes into things without thinking. Put more precisely, it isn't that he prefers to act before thinking, but that his mind hasn't really thought about all the consequences.

Zephiris:
He likes to act suave and he knows he's good at it, but in the end it's more for entertainment than anything else. He's good with words and likes to talk a lot more than the rest of the group combined, but at the very least it's not all pointless blather, since Zephiris is very educated and smart.

Zephiris is a very opinionated person. He also knows clearly what is most important to him -- his family and his own life -- meaning that he always reacts to situations with little hesitance. It's these two points (since, in the eyes of Zephy, Hix values his life little) that sometimes puts him at odds with Hix.

The only time he loses his head is when something important to him is harmed. And when Zephy snaps, he goes all the way...

Kit
He's the nominal child of the group, although he's actually not the youngest. He has a cheerful personality and prefers to be optimistic, even though he knows in his head the reality of the situation. It's a way to help both others and himself cope.

Having lived at home for all his life, yet be surrounded by books, Kit has always dreamed of traveling and adventure. This is mostly the reason why he ends up trying to pursue his "lost brother and parents" despite the fact that he has a perfectly good family at the moment. However, being timid, there's no way Kit says any of this, so he ends up secretly looking into things, and waiting quietly for something to happen.

He's somewhat of a bookworm and genuinely loves learning, even when he was bullied as a kid. However, most of his knowledge is just that; none of it is empirical. He has a bit of trouble applying what he actually knows to real life.

Hageshi
At first, Hageshi comes across as someone unapproachable because of his aggressive and serious personality. He is also short-tempered and quickly loses his cool, especially around people he's comfortable with. This generally ends up making him somewhat of a laughingstock among his friends (mostly to Zephiris). Despite his willingness to be made fun of (or at least, that's what Hix says), Hageshi is actually a very strong fighter.

Having been raised in a prestigious family in an even more prestigious clan, Hageshi has very high standards for himself. He has also adopted the clan's stance on "honor" and "justice," and because of his profession, he often labels his jobs as fulfilling these two qualities as well. In his case, though, it's not naivety so much as chosen ignorance. The fewer questions asked about the job, the better. He also holds his family in high esteem, and has a great pride for his clan (though not necessarily for his job).

Hageshi has somewhat of a bloodhound-type personality. Once something catches his attention, he rarely lets go until he gets to the bottom of whatever's bothering him. He knows this as his fault, though, which is why he sometimes actively feigns ignorance.

I wonder if they sound rounded enough up there...

I also wonder if anyone will pick up on where some of these character traits come from... lol.

Now, for my greatest accomplishment yet... I finally got the gods sorted out too! They're not nearly as detailed as the main characters, but much more than before! *is so happy* Their personality traits actually ended up coinciding with what I had planned so long ago, based off of research I'd done on the 4 Cardinal Gods =DD

So, instead of talking more of their past personalities, I'll just go into how they're like in the current SC.

Mysthel
The blue dragon god of the west, in charge of Azumarque. He feels responsible for the state of Seifriel (the lands of Faunaac and Cerebraille combined, or rather, the main setting of SC) -- that it is separated from the rest of the world by the Rift, that the humans had to be isolated for the Spirits, and that the Spirits and Arks existed in the first place. He also feels that it's his fault that his former love, Iina, had had the burden of the world placed on her and died for it. As such, almost all of his current efforts are to "put things right," back to the way it was before, to the best of his ability.

Aside from being a bit (only a bit) obsessed with the past, Mysthel comes across as a very laidback person, the kind who would always help little old ladies cross the road and such. He enjoys interacting with people and genuinely loves the land from the bottom of his heart.

Due to the nature of Azumarque, with all the small scattered villages, there isn't a "one" place he calls his home. People actually looking for Mysthel find him very hard to find, especially now that he's on a mission...

Kurehou
The crimson phoenix god of the south, Crissur. The loss of faith from the people during the last war horrified him, and as a result, he closed himself off in his tower in the middle of the desert, where he resides, and immersed himself in books and such. In a way, he was trying to relive the past, when he could mingle with the people and interact without being rejected. It was only after the revolutionaries approached him that he took an interest in improving Faunaac as it was, and together they overthrew the King.

With his return, he also realized that he needed to live in the present, so he went back to his "godly duties," which are mostly making his area (Crissur) more habitable. Unfortunately, the tower he lives in is still in the middle of the desert, so that's as unreachable as ever.

As a person, Kurehou is short-tempered and takes many comments personally. Perhaps because he was closed in a single building for so long, he also comes off as sulky.

Byahu
The white tiger god of the west, Yennia. Out of the gods, he was the least attached to his people, and when they decided not to hold faith in the "old religion" anymore, he decided not to put his faith in them either. He determinedly set out to create his own niche, although his idea of "upholding justice" is a little odd.

He lives in the mountains and has a very parochial mindset, focusing mostly on his place rather than the going-ons of the entire country. Personality-wise, he's very hotheaded. The classical "leap before you look" type. He's also very motivated, though this could be a bad thing given how often his goals seem completely random and whimsical. But maybe he knows what he's doing...? (Doubtful.)

Kabuto
The black turtle god of the north, Seible. He's the only one who still listens, or rather, can listen to the Mother (the planet, Hebala) and, as a result, is very knowledgeable about what's happening in the world, as well as something of the future. In a sort of "chicken or egg dilemma" type situation, the faith of his people is unwavering. He can hear the planet because he isn't depressed or stressed, partially because his people are there with him, and his people trust him because he can hear Hebala and is trustworthy.

Kabuto is quiet, proper, and comes across as slightly cold and detached. He generally tries to avoid large conflicts, but he lends a hand to his old god friends as a sign of old comradeship.

Jet
The yellow dragon god of the center, Faunaac (proper). The least is known about Jet, mostly because out of all the gods, the least was known about him after his disappearance after the war. The Rift, which separates Seifriel from the rest of the world, is all his doing. Because Faunaac is his land, it's most likely that he's still living there.

Before his disappearance, he was a positive, yet reasonable person. He came across as very reliable, and he was the pacifist of the group.

Probably not as good reading because it's an info-dump, that last part... Oh well...?...

Ack, back to work!
