Christening my table
Last night we christened my new dinning room table, I only bought about 6 months ago. Anyway, Elvum, Susz, Gareth, Jo, Carmel & Matt came over and ate canapes (blinis with smoked salmon and creme fraiche, crostinis with gravardlax and soured cream and mini bruscetta), asparagus with lemon butter crumbs and foaming hollandaise, balsamic pork with bacon cabbage and sage potatoes, and chocolate tort.
It all worked out very well, the chocolate tort is very rich and I still have half a chocolate tort in my fridge, and there was a slight mistake where the pork wasn't quite as cooked as it might have been the first time around. Anyway, now my flat is getting back to normal, and the washing up is done. Now I am enjoying a quiet sit down, some nice toast and a cup of tea.
I will have to have more dinner parties.
