Some firsts (relatively speaking)...

--Jerm calls me up Saturday AM. "What are you doing today? Want to go get a pedicure with me after I'm off work?" I've never had a pedicure, and I'm all about the pretty feet, so thought sure, why not? That sweet rascal then even paid for it after it was over. He's too cool. I loves me some Jeremy. And my toenails look awesome with clear polish.

--Daniel Nahmod did a concert at my church yesterday, and also sang and gave the lesson at both services. (Two of his best "spiritual" CDs, Sacred Love and Water are on Amie Street for FREE! And a shout out to kjaz for introducing me to Amie Street. Free and cheap indie music is a good thing.) He has a pop band as well, "Waiting for Betsy" that has released a mini sampler and should be coming out with a "real" record in the next little bit. The first song is called "Jessica Alba," and it's silly, wonderful fun (also a free download on Amie Street). He mentioned it a coupla months ago to his fans (Nahmod nimrods?!?), and it's one of those silly songs that gets in your head and you can't shake it outta there.

So, anyway, back to the first...I walk in to the early service, and there he is by the front door. "Hey, there's Daniel Nahmod!" I say, and he comes over and shakes my hand and we visit a bit. I'm a BIG fan, so of course start telling him how happy we are to have him back and blah, blah, blah and he's real sweet about it. Then I say, "Hey, are you gonna sing 'Jessica Alba'?" His face lit up because I'm reasonably certain he hadn't been asked that yet, and he leaned in grinning and said, "Yeah, I am, and guess what--it's on the charts now!" So, if you missed it, the first would be that I've never had a conversation with a recording artist and mentioned a song of theirs I loved only to have them grin really big and say, "It's on the charts now!" That was cool.

--I had a LOOOONNNNG Alzheimer's Association Board Meeting right after work. I got out of there and nearly passed out from hunger, but decided I needed to make the first batch of pesto for the season. I did, and it was every bit as amazing as it ever is. My garden is 4 tomato plants, two pepper plants, some thyme and rosemary and tons and tons of basil. Pesto is my favorite food. I sit here and think to myself, "Pesto isn't food, it's a condiment" but hey, I could care less, it's wicked good.

I had a sinus headache come barreling in like gangbusters about an hour ago, so I took two ibuprofens and a benadryl and am gonna go and lay down and let them work their magic.
