I have a couple cousins who are younger than I am and I have absolutely zero things to say to them, so I understand how you feel in that regard. Although there weren't ten of them (thankyousweetbabyjesus).

I so did not win NaNo. I still ended up with over 30k, which is better than I thought I'd do. So I guess there's that. ...even if the 30k I did write is totally crap-tastic.

There were actually only five, but little kids tend to multiply the amount of noise, chaos, and attention they need by two, compared to an adult (er...most of the time). We really quickly realized we have the least childproof house ever.

Hey, it's your first year - plenty more chances! The first year I heard about NaNo I opted to not even do it because it was my first year of college and I thought I'd have lots of cool scholarly things going on and no time for a slapdash novel. Was wrong on both accounts...
