Saturday in Philadelphia
Straight from the sidekick:
- woke up with 20 minutes to check out of my youth hostel. The good thing is I took a shower the night before so I just rolled up and rolled out.
- Got in touch with a couch surf host, met her at Buckingham, sorted my net stuff and figured out rough things to do in the city.
- Stopped to say "hi" to some girl in Philly on her porch after digging a bit through a thrift store.
- Ended up porch drinking while they all gossiped about people I only marginally know in this city. I just sat there sipping a beer.
- Went to a all vegan buffet way the hell out in the burbs. It was a 40 minute trek by car. The chubby beard and the funny ghost hunter story teller sushi appreciating guys were the only nice dudes I met today. Funny ghost hunter guy said I was welcome to come tour through his job free ... it's a weird job. We also were talking about drinks and he knew what a liquid cocaine is which kind of reminded me I miss them.
- If someone is funny and out going and inclusive I tend to like them more than snotty exclusive I don't want to know you people.
- The girl I porch drank with asked me who I was staying with in NY and she'd ended up figuring out who without me saying it, she's tight with people who know him. She said when she'd first met him that he was grouchy at her, next time he was totally nice, next time he was grouchy again. She said at first she'd thought it was her and then she realized it was him. Interesting.
- I sent Jamie a text message and he sent me a funny reply. Two actually.
- I booked my bus to NYC but I do need a place to stay for 2 nights. I contacted couch surf people but could be tight.
- I am currently at a weird show at a frat house. I feel so out of place. I should go back to couch surf house to crash out.
- Everyone is in Richmond for best friend's day.
- Ten more days until NYC. I keep on contacting house ads like they're on their way out of style.
