vote bizarro for bizarro

Yes, indeed, the Bizarro literary genre. Good stuff. Influenced by Kafka and Burroughs and all those twisted sorts. And now they have their own convention.

My pal Rose O'Keefe, impresario of Eraserhead Press, is a total community organizer. She loves to get a bunch of weirdos together for parties and movements. It works, too. I accompanied Mykle Hansen to Edgefield and the culmination of the world first BizarroCon, and the ceremony to give out the very first Wonderland Awards (named after the Alice sort of Wonderland) and then there were cocktails and a competition to see who could perform the most bizarre fiction piece in three minues.

And then more cocktails.

I really should have cut myself off after the third; it's not the booze that troubles me, it's the expense. I'm blazing through money right now. It's indecent (and dumb). Ah well, a moratorium on spending until next payday, except that I'm going to brunch right now. Other than that, I'll be good. I don't even need groceries.

parties, writing, awesome
