five minutes of procrastination

I had today off. Have tomorrow off, too.
Today I went on a thrifting expedition to NE, which, on the bus with a four-hour time frame, meant Goodwill on NE Broadway and Value Village in the Hollywood District. Myr and I call this the "Brigadoon" Value Village, because unless you know precisely where it is, you'd never know it was there - and even if you do know, it's easy to lose it in the mists of weird strip malls and Sandy Blvd. I lost it this time, basically having to triangulate by walking in one-block-increasing circles until I stumbled across it after I'd already given up.

I didn't find anything at either place that demanded to be bought, so the day was pretty much a waste except for the exercise. Oh, and also the bus at the Hollywood Transit Center went down the wrong bus aisle, and took me a good eight blocks out of my way. My lowered ability to concentrate and pay attention to details when I'm really, really tired is a total liability. I know that pretty much everyone experiences this to some extent, but I really don't like it and I'm constantly trying to figure out ways to prevent or deal with it. Unfortunately the only way to prevent getting really, really tired is to never do anything. I wish shopping was less of a drag, though; I guess for that to be the case, you just have to have enormous amounts of money so you can go to places that actually have what you're looking for, instead of those mothballs-and-roaches emporiums I frequent. I'm poor, dammit! And of course, it doesn't matter how much money I have - I get tired after three hours, guaranteed (unless it's clubbing; maybe I should stop for drinks frequently when I'm out shopping. Worked for Patsy and Edina.)

Bad headache, day six.

Denver in thirty-six hours. Eight dozen people are vying to pick me up from the airport and not telling each other about it. I'm like whatever. I just want there to be an excuse to rock my Burberry-knockoff handbag and to feel like I'm impossibly graceful, delicate, tiny and thin compared to the rest of the fam...

Oh shit! I thought of the perfect accessory which I do not have! But I've already got too much crap to do tomorrow - I can't go shopping again!!
