It don't take long

Whew - what a day for my family!

This morning, my brother was involved in an auto-accident. He was riding his motorcycle (he is an aggressive driver, who likes to speed) on the highway. As he tells it, he was driving along when a large semi-truck on the right lane began to blink and indicate it would take his lane. He was in the blind spot of the truck, and quickly began to fear he would be roadkill. To avoid this very flat fate, he braked hard. He braked so hard that he locked up the front wheel and flipped the bike.
Luckily he is OK. Some part of the bike came down on him while he (and it) were tumbling along the pavement and crushed his big toe, but other than that he is only battered from the fall. Actually, luck isn't the only reason he's OK - he's a huge believer in wearing protective gear. The gear is all beat to hell, with metal studs ripped out, huge chunks of leather gone revealing the titanium protective plates inside, the helmet it all scuffed/dented at the back, etc.
X-Rays show nothing is broken, and all will heal up with minimal medical intervention. :)
He didn't even get a ticket when the police showed up. It was ruled as "Operator Error - no violation" and the cops were more busy dealing with the 4 car pile-up that took place on the opposite direction from the rubber-neckers who crashed while looking at his crash.
I'm very glad he wasn't run over, either. He says the car right behind him didn't even stop, but just swerved around him and never looked back. A nice lady stopped and put her blinkers on so nobody would run him over, called the cops for him and helped him pick up the bike to clear traffic. :)

Meanwhile, my mom and her fiance were having a disagreement that turned into an argument that developed into a fight. My brother called my mom to arrange for towing, insurance, and other stuff while my mom was driving the fiance home. This is in the middle of their disagreement, and only jumbled things up.
At the end of the disagreement, the fiance walked away. Their engagement is off, and they are no longer speaking to one another. The fiance is leaving for Kentucky in 4 days. He'll stay there at least 3-4 weeks, and he may make arrangements to move there.
Then again, their relationship has been so topsy-turvy over the last year, it wouldn't at all surprise me if they got back together in 3 weeks like nothing ever happened.

...

So far, it looks like I'm unscathed by today's horoscope. Good thing I have a core belief in Agency (How much you believe you determine your own outcome, rather than some force or figure); otherwise I might start to think fate is screwing with us!
