My brother's court date was today. He has to write the cop an apology letter - which is bullshit - but he didn't get a fine, probation, or anything like that; in fact even the speeding ticket that was ostensibly the point of the whole exercise was dismissed. Of course he still has to pay for his lawyer and all.
