...got to see how staples are removed from a person
i always had this horrifying image of a nurse...
...attacking someone with a giant version of an office stapler remover
instead they use a strange device that crimps the middle of the staple
...interesting
monday...
...spent the day watching a total hip replacement in the OR
then a repair of an elbow injury...
...chains, slings, and hammers
blood splattered and amused...
...got made fun of because i had to leave the OR for a few minutes
what disturbs everyone is i went to grab a bite to eat...
wednesday...
...watched the helicopter land by my office
the flight of life touches down just outside...
...though i think it is funny two guards watch the helicopter
not like the patient is really up for making a grab to steal it or anything...
thursday...
...write up notes about patients verses weird things and losing
like bulls, trains, metal fence, trees, and beer bottles...
...lesson to be learned, the patient always loses in these encounters
...
downside of things...
...getting made fun of by drunks in an alley
having to take filthy scrubs down to the laundry room...
...being exhausted
the surgeon who wears fishing boots, bad part is they are covered in blood...
...i'm scared of the carpet at work
...
overall i have to say i enjoy my new job...
...the hospital keeps my attention
so much to learn, to see, to touch...
...or not to touch and try to avoid cause it stains your clothes
