Off to the vet...
This is my beautiful girl Lilly, who has developed a terrible OCD habit of excessive muzzle grooming on herself, and has worn off her fur and abraded her skin. Off to the vet with her in the morning. Hopefully meds will abate the low-level infection she has there and give the skin a chance to heal (and her, less reason to rub rub rub and scratch).
Also, in the effort to distract her from such destructive OCD behaviors, I am compelled to introduce more girls to the colony (which presently consists of only Lilly and her sister Betty). With more company there will be more distractions. I hadn't planned to get more meeple (aka mouse-people) any time soon -- I was thinking to take a little break from rodent care-taking for a while, but it looks like that's not in the cards for me right now. So, there will be some new hyperactive youngster meeple to share the old girls' space pretty soon. (In human years, the girls are in their early '60s). So after the vet visit tomorrow comes the pet store. Wish me luck for finding sympatico spirits to fit in well with my Beautiful Girls, and distract Lilly from her muzzle rubbing!
