My sister recently bought me this book I'd heard some buzz about:
2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better, by Rachel Aaron.
On my own, frankly, I would never have looked at this twice. I'm a writer, I have my methods, and a publishing track record. I'm good to go. Yes? But as a freebie gift, of course, one takes a troll through the verbiage anyway. And...
Wow.
This stopped me in my tracks and made me think.
In 48 hrs I have spawned two new writing projects (one fiction, one non-fiction), and begun to reassess some sticking points in an earlier work from the point of view of what's presented in this book.
Big Worms Are Turning. Much Productive Food For Thought is being consumed.
On the one hand there is nothing in this book I haven't heard or thought of before.
On the other hand, it is concisely presented in right form, right place, right time, and I am HEARING it now. Kinda like a Verizon network, without the NSA snoopage attached.
Am not going to try to offer synopsis of this book (Google is your friend in this regard). Instead I will simply say, I have just popped the cork on two new endeavors that I think I will be able to bring to quick successful conclusions on the basis of what I absorbed here.
Try it, you'll like it!
