Things are changing...
I heard from my best friend today that one of our night charge nurses has an appointment at Methodist tomorrow. And that they are considering a Med/Tele day charge for the night House Supervisor position... and she's a fuckin idiot!!!
So, I called me former manager at Methodist and I will call them in the morning to get an appointment. Then when my manager gets her new job as the head of the new Cardiovascular Unit, I can work for her. She will be in charge of that area doing transplants and serious, very sick cardiac stuff. I never really thought about cardiac stuff before, but I got good at Oncology and I think I would be good at Cardiac stuff too.
I managed to get my ACLS certification yesterday with a 91 on my test. Pretty good for not having recertified since 1988, huh?
I am waiting impatiently for Chris to get here. It's going to be fun... and can't wait till the Disturbed concert and the Metallica Summer Sanitarium conert. Now I have to figure out a way to get tickets for the Buzzfest... Evanescence, Godsmack, POD, the Exies, and plenty others that would just rock!!!
Been talking to Mehgan's friend Simon about GKR Karate. Sounds cool. They are going to be opening a dojo in Houston from Australia. I have joined an msn group on GKR to find out more about it. Wonder what they can do for the old and fat?? :)
I'm going to get off now. I've been browsing, chatting, updating and doing laundry. I've also been getting rid of the clothes that no longer fit. It's a nice feeling to put something on that was too tight a few months ago and is now bordering on loose.
I finally got on the scales and I'm guessing I've lost between 40 and 50 pounds in the last 4 1/2 months. I had to guess cause I stopped weighing when I reached 304. But I didn't stop gaining cause I had to keep getting bigger clothes. I weighed night before last and it was 266. Nice numbers. I'm wearing things that fit and form to the body for the first time in years, not trying to just hide my body under big baggy things. Ike is really starting to notice as are the people at work. I feel better and am starting to feel sexier too. And as if I didn't have enough already, I'm getting some more attitude.
