Catching up

Jan 02, 2023 13:23

It has been over 5 months since I have posted in my LJ/DW. I seem to be drifting away and that makes me sad. I miss having a place to post the mundane day to day things of my life and I miss all the lovely people I have met through LJ/DW.

On to some catching up. My grandbabies aren't babies any longer this year they will be 7 and 6 they are still cute and are the loves of my life. In 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, my blood pressure went sky-high and I was put on 3 blood pressure meds. I told everyone, who would listen, that I was sure the reason it was so high was the pandemic and the upcoming election. Well now that things are a bit more under control, my blood pressure has dropped, AND it's not just the meds because meds don't take 3 years to work.

Now on to the political part of the program:

I rarely sit down and watch hours of television but I did watch some of HLM's "The West Wing" marathon. Since I am not a big TV watcher I was really caught up in the commercials. They kept running an ad for CNN's show about Rudy Giuliani "What Happened to America's Mayor?" As New Yorker, I can tell you... nothing happened he was always like this he just hid it better. Back in 1989 when David Dinkins was running against Giuliani, I wasn't sure who to vote for. A friend worked as a court officer in lower Manhattan and I asked his opinion. He told me he knew both of these men through his job. He told me Dinkins was sharp, articulate, smart, and a true gentleman. He also said Giuliani was a bumbling baffoon and a drunk. This was back in 1989, so nothing much has changed.

I'm sure most of you have heard of George Santos, the Republican who ran for congress and won. After he won it was discovered he lied about EVERYTHING. He lied about his education and his employment, plus he told some disgusting lies about having employees who died in the Pulse shooting and that his grandparents fled the Holocaust. All lies. What most of you don't know is that this idiot is my congressman-elect. *Fingers crossed* we can get rid of him before his 2 years are up.

life, george santos
