Life in the States

It was pretty hot here in NY yesterday, it hit 90 degrees and it was very humid. It was the perfect day to stay in the AC and watch Hamilton. Which we did. I knew most of the songs but because it was hip-hop/rap it was so fast that I put on CC (Closed Caption) and really got to "hear" every word. Lin Manuel Miranda and the whole cast is so talented, what a joy to see so much talent on one stage.

The COVID numbers in NY are holding steady but because of the rise in numbers other places, NYC has postponed the opening of bars and indoor restaurant dining. Which is, I think, a good idea. My sister lives in Flordia and because at the beginning of all this Florida's numbers were good My sis and my BIL weren't as careful as all of their relatives here in the north. Now that Florida's numbers aren't good, and a few people they know have gotten the virus, my sis and BIL are being way more careful. Which makes me feel more relaxed about them living in a state with such high numbers.

I know it's nuts but since the beginning of all this, I have obsessively watched the COVID numbers. Since the beginning, New York has been the number one state with the highest numbers, New Jersey was the number two state. Well, this week that changed. NY is still the #1 one state but California is now #2, Texas is #3, Florida is #4 and New Jersey is #5.

When I see the high numbers all I can think to say is....WAKE UP AMERICA AND PUT ON A MASK!!!

I hope all of you are keeping safe.
