I have this sort of hate/love for Angelus. While I agree with you, he also reminds me of douchebags so I kinda want hit his face sometimes. I prefer his melancholy side.

Angelus was fun. Evil fun, but fun. Angel bored me on BTVS.

Now on Angel, it was different. Angel on Angel was more like Angelus at times. Angel let Darla and Dru kill all the lawyers without a bit of guilt. Angel almost killed Wesley after losing Connor. Angel killed one of Wolfram and Hart's black ops guys by shoving the gun under his chin and firing it. It didn't bother him at all. No brooding guilt after any of these moments. Once he was away from Buffy, Angel did things a bit different. The worst was selling out his friends to protect Connor.
