so i woke up this morning at 5:30 am. on a saturday. no, jason varitek was not at my door to make me cookies. and no, the tequila fairy did not come to bring me presents.

i waited in line for red sox tickets.

i should explain. my father is the hardest person to shop for; he constantly works and enjoys both liquor and sports. since my mother does not condone alcohol, we stuck to sports. she asked me if i could help her obtain tickets for my father. being the good daughter that i am, i said sure, no problem (thankfully she did not ask me to help her find pats tickets because i would have had to sell a kidney or a firstborn). i strolled to the box office on monday to inquire and the nice man told me my options, including the event called "christmas in the park" where you are guaranteed tickets for preslected games. so i enter, not thinking too much about it.

fast forward to last night. i check my email and i got an early christmas present. i won a ticket to the raffle! so the p's and i pile into the car and wait in line for FOUR hours. all is not lost my friends. we are now the proud owners of TWO red sox ticket packages which include the following: tampa bay (i could go drunk to that), toronto (again, drunk), new york mets (drunk, but will wear my "pedro is a baby" shirt), AND

the new york yankees.

my father and i will be sitting in the FIFTH row by pesky's pole. there will be heckling and alcohol galore (clearly, mrs. p is staying home). oooh, perhaps i will start a chant. and make a sign.

you have no idea how excited i am.

in other news, i bought a black sweater today. not because i wanted to, but i need something to wear over my dress for the bat mitzvah i am going to. no shoes yet, but at least i will be warm.

also, if anyone can fix my computer screen, i will be a very happy kate. the stupid thing keeps flashing even though i've run both spybot AND adware.
