A good day, fully of synergy

It's Valentines Day. That usually means nothing to me because I don't think there's anything more dumb than paying 4 times the going amount for a bunch of flowers that are going to wilt, die and make a mess on my dining table at home, just because it's 14 February.

But today is a VERY VERY special day:

1) We signed the contract of sale today. It is official. We have sold the two flats in only 48 business hours. That has to be some sort of record! Not only did we get more money than we bargained for, but since we don't have to continue to advertise, we will actually save a couple thousand on that too! I've been joking, "My husband got me over a million dollars cash for Valentine's Day. What did your partner get you?" all day. It amuses me! And it's so rare I have something that major to gloat about!

2) Peter's mother-in-law, who fled Hungary to come to Australia back during the communist stuff that happened in the 50s in Hungary, arrived in Australia exactly 50 years ago yesterday. The property we just sold was the first property they purchased (her half of it anyway) for the grandparents, when they moved here. There's some nice synergy in that. On the 50th anniversary of her coming here, we are selling her flat, that she paid 3000 pounds for back under the old money system.

3) Valentine's Day is our pup's birthday. She is one year old today.

4) And just to make things better, we are going to see the Umbilical Brothers tonight with some good friends. We are going for dinner at a pub down in Circular Quay beforehand. I will be having much champagne. I hope I'm not too drunk to enjoy the show!

Now, everyone have a lovely Valentine's Day, however you do or don't acknowledge it, and please share a virtual glass of champagne with me to celebrate!
